Welcome to Vail! As home of the Burton U·S·Open Snowboard Championships, Olympic Alpine Champions Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin, and the Legendary Back Bowls, Vail is universally held as North America’s top ski resort.

Since its auspicious founding in 1962, Vail has grown to become an extraordinary year-round world-class destination. The premier resort brand in North America and arguably the world, Vail attracts a diverse guest base who are cosmopolitan, adventurous, and active. They come to Vail from the major city centers of North America and from around the world. Vail’s diverse guests are bound together by a shared purpose: a desire for a feeling of adventure, a sense of expansiveness, and a rich and dynamic resort experience both on and off the mountain.

Matching the incredible mountain experience, Vail is characterized year-round by its rich culinary scene and summer season events that range from adventure sports to classical music and jazz concerts, family activities, and more.

Vail also offers world-class lodging from high-end luxury hotels to practical condominiums and vacation rentals. On the culinary front, diverse offerings abound. From five courses to five-minute bites, Vail has a bounty of options and flavors. Other alternatives include cozy pubs, family-friendly eateries, and everything else across the culinary spectrum.

Slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, along with the kid-friendly Riglet Learning Park, sponsor village and Burton Pop-Up Shop are all located at Vail’s Golden Peak. Other activities will take place in Vail Village and Lionshead including concerts, additional sponsor activations, live feeds, Après All Day locations, and more. All Burton U·S·Open events, including concerts and the U·S·Open Closing Party, are FREE and open to the public.

Complimentary tickets will be required to enter the Burton U·S·Open Closing Party at Dobson Ice Arena on Saturday night—tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Vail’s two Burton stores and the Burton Pop-Up Shop at Golden Peak. Note that the Solaris concert venue has limited capacity and concertgoers may be turned away if capacity is reached.

Spectators may watch from the base of the halfpipe and from the halfpipe walls. These areas can be accessed by hiking from the base of Golden Peak or by riding Chair #6 Riva Bahn halfway and skiing/riding down to the pipe (lift pass and proper equipment required for lift access). Note: The Gopher Hill Lift (#12) does not allow access to the halfpipe. Spectators may view the slopestyle competitions from the base of the course at Golden Peak. In addition to watching the events from the snow, live feeds of all competitions will be available at the Golden Peak base area, Solaris Plaza, as well as at our official Après All Day locations at Vendetta's, Shakedown Bar, Garfinkel’s, Pazzo's Pizzeria, The Fitz, and Bridge Street Bar. The event finals will also be live on TV8 throughout the Vail Valley.
