Another epic line-up for the Burton Concert Series
best advice as we approach another epic Burton U·S·Open
is to pace yourself. With all that’s going on during the day, you’ll need to be
strategic if you want to experience all that goes down after dark. The 2018
entertainment line-up is packed with world-class
reggae, jam bands, funk and indie, plus award-winning DJs.
This year’s massive FREE Burton Concert Series roster includes BØRNS, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Dean Ween & Friends, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Monophonics, and more! Everyone is invited to performances at the all-ages outdoor Solaris concert stage in Vail Village, and don’t be surprised to see the competitors jamming right alongside you.
Highlight performers on the Solaris concert stage include Grammy award winner Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley on Saturday night. The youngest son of the legend Bob Marley is celebrated for his rousing reggae roots jams and dancehall bangers. Also, don’t miss a one-of-a-kind performance by Michigan-bred singer songwriter BØRNS, aka Garrett Borns, who will be taking over the Friday night concert presented by Pacifico with his danceable indie-pop ballads and captivating stage presence. Plus, Monophonics, one of the premier soul bands in the country, will be playing Solaris on Wednesday.
The Burton Concert Series performance at Solaris on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night will kick off with the Burton U·S·Open Junior Jam, slopestyle and halfpipe awards ceremonies. It’s all in the spirit of the Burton U·S·Open, celebrating the close ties between snowboarding and music.
Make sure you score a spot early at the Solaris Concert Stage
Also, new this year is the addition of a second venue—the Shakedown Bar. This 21+ venue will include both après performances, plus late night bands. Head here to get your fix of classic American rock, plus unexpected performances including Dean Ween & Friends playing an intimate acoustic performance on Thursday. This is a must-see for any Ween fans. Tickets for the Shakedown Bar are available for purchase in advance of the show through Shakedown Bar and at the door.
And finally, just when you make it into the home stretch, there’s the closing party at the Dobson Ice Arena on Saturday night, a FREE celebration of the week with a one-two-three punch of DJs, featuring DJ Cre8, Deejay Theory and DJ Hedspin aka “the World's Best Party Rocker DJ.” This one goes late into the night, but you’ve got all of Sunday to recover.
So start stretching now, stay hydrated, and download the official Burton U·S·Open app now through Google Play and the App Store or view the entire Burton Concert Series schedule and learn about all of the other action going down on and off the mountain all week.
